  Today, I'm going to write my history presentation.

   Tests to find out a witch

  Hello, everyone. My name is Ye-in, Jung and today I'm going to talk about tests to find out a witch.

 

  First, I'll talk about swimming. Second, trial by ordeal. Third, eating jam and bread. Fourth, staying calm. Fifth, Screaming fits. Sixth, bleeding corpses. Seventh, pricking, and finally, I'll talk about turcas!

  I'll talk about swimming. This swimming is not the kind of swimming you imagine. I'll explain the process. First, your right thumb and your left big toe are tied together, and your left thumb and your right big toe are tied together. This makes swimming tricky. Now, you're thrown into the water. If you float, people believed that Devil was helping you. You were taken out and executed. If you sink, your are dead innocent.

  Now, I'll talk about trial by ordeal. An iron bar is put in a fire for one hour. Then, the victim grip the hot bar in her hand. Then, she walks nine steps with the bar in her hand. Her hand will be damaged, right? Her hand will be bandaged, and after 5 hours, the bandages are taken off. If you're healed, you're innocent. However, if you're not healed, you're found guilty and hanged.

  Next, I'll talk about eating jam and bread. Jam and bread. What do you think? Just a common snack? However, people believed that witches can't eat these. You see, witches are creatures in a form of human, so they are not entirely human! If the victim eats jam and bread, she is innocent but if the victim does not eat, she is found guilty.

   I'll talk about staying calm. If you are arrested and thrown into prison if you're innocent, what will you do? You will cry and bang the door and scream. But if you're calm, you're found guilty and hanged. Isn't that silly?

   Now I will talk about screaming fits. People believed that if a witch touches a person, the person will scream. In 1664, a common villager Rose Cullender screamed when the witch Amy Puny touched her. So the law officer covered Rose's face with an apron and touched her- and Rose Cullender screamed and ran away. So Amy Puny was innocent.

  Next, I will talk about bleeding corpses. Christina Wilson was believed to kill a man by witchcraft in 1551. She touched the victim's corpse, and the corpse started to bleed! Christina Wilson was hanged.

  Now, I will explain about pricking. People believed that every witch had a spot where the Devil himself touched. And if you pricked the spot and it did not bleed, the victim was a witch! For example, Janet Peaston was just talking to herself and the law officer thought she was strange and pricked the spot on Janet's neck. It didn't bleed. She was hanged.

  Finally, there is turcas. It is a instrument of torture, and it only ripped out a witch's fingernails.

Writing an ode!

  Now, I'll write an ode to something...

  Dear pencil,

  Do you remember me? I still remember you, the first time I saw you. I took you with me always no matter what once I began to go to elementary school. I hope you remember me.

  I remember your features as clearly as I am looking at you right now. You had black sharp point, orange body, and a small pink eraser at the end. I looked at you curiously, grabbed you, and began to scribble on the paper. And I was surprised at the black line on the paper. You were a very good artist! From then on, after playing, I always grabbed you firmly and scribbled on the paper, surprised at your very romantic drawing skills!

 

  But, but I made a mistake when I was fourth grade. I started to go to English and math academies from then on, and I got so much stress because it was so difficult! I had to find out a way to release my stress. So, I started to bite you!

  But after I began to regret it. There were strange marks on your body. I wondered what the marks were. Then, I got it. It was my front teeth's marks! I was so ashamed. I didn't want you dirty and hurt, nor did I want to grab dirty pencil. My mom talked about pencils being important. Pencils were made from trees, and me doing these horrible things were making Earth more sick! From then on, I did not bite you again. But you were seriously heart mentally and physically.

 

  I'm so sorry, dear pencil. I should have been more careful! I should have thought about my stress releasing method. I should thought in your perspective. I believe you didn't like it when your body was munched horribly and two big marks were left in your body. I'm so sorry.

 

  From now on, I will never bite you. I'll try not to bite you. After all, I now think biting you is a horrible and disgusting thing to do. I'm so sorry, and now, I'll be always careful when I am holding you. Good day.

Chain writing: A family's story

  It was a dark yet bright night. The night was starry with a half moon. The win blew gently, and the fog was drifting slowly.

  A small wooden house was built high up in the mountains. A small family was living in the small house. They family consisted of a mother, a father, and a young daughter.

 

  A family was living happily. The father was cutting down trees and catching fish. The mother was collecting berries and the family were eating delicious things for dinner. Their daughter was 3 years old, but she had a very serious disease. Her mom and dad went to the hospital, but the doctor just said that there is no medicine for that specific disease! The parents were so sad and disappointed.

 
  One day, the daughter was just left alone at the house. She was lying at the floor, crying and there was no one to comfort her. She crawled to the door but then she hit her head at the sharp edge of the door.
  
  She cried and cried. Fortunately, the mother returned with lots of bunches of berries.
  "Oh, my cute daughter. What happened to you?"
  "Mama! If fdo..."

  Of course, she was 3 years old! But she pointed to the head and the mother found out the blood on her head. The mother called the father and together, they went to the hospital.

 

  Their minds sank deeply when the doctor said, "Unfortunately, this girl has serious injury in her brain and she's using all her life and strength to learn knowledge. She will be a genius, but after 820 days, she will be sadly... dead."

 

  The mother and father cried. The doctor felt sorry for them, so he told them the dangerous but the only cure. When the parents heard this cure, both of them were very shocked. The cure was trying the first peculiar brain surgery! And the chance to live was 50%! They might have to sacrifice their child. However, they gave the child to the doctor and prayed for the god to help them.

  After one day, the doctor went to the parents and congratulated them. The child was alive! Also, she was a genius! From then on, the parents lived happily ever after with the genius child. The child grew and grew and grew and became a very beautiful woman. She married a very rich man and lived happily.

New assignment: ode!

  Today, I had a new assignment after that essay about viral video. It is writing an ode! Do you know what ode is? According to Wikipedia, ode is a lyrical verse written in praise of, or dedicated to someone or something which captures the poet's interest or serves as an inspiration for the ode.
  I'm going to write about an ode later. Anticipate!

Viral Video- Charlie bit me!

  Today, I'm going to talk about my viral video- 'Charile bit me!' First, I'll show you the video again.





  Very funny! Charlie and her brother, Harry is sitting on a comfortable-looking sofa. Charlie bits Harry's finger, and Harry yelps in pain. Charlie giggles. The video's title is 'Charlie bit my finger-again!'. Harry and Charlie's dad, Howard, 41 years old, posted it online because the file was too big to send online to his family and friends. Now, four million people viewed this video.

  I will talk about how this video spread specifically. This family lived and still now lives in England. Mr. Howard uploaded the video on YouTube so their godfathers, who were living in United States, can see Charlie and Harry. Mr. Howard decided to upload the video on YouTube because the video file was too large to send with email. Mr. Howard said,"The clip only went up as I wanted to share it with the boys' godfather. I was naive about the whole YouTube thing. It became viral and once that happened there was nothing I could do. People have sent lovely comments and messages and I now upload a new video of the boys every six weeks."                                                                                                           

  This video has impacted the world so much. This single video had received 2.6 million hits on YouTube in February 2008 and 12 million in March 2008. And this single video had affected the video's hero, Charlie and Harry's life. These boys have gained stardom. They have their own blog and T-shirts. They also have limited edition calendars. However, since the boys have went so popular, lots of money had gained. However, Mr. Howard says,"we have deliberately not commercialised the children. It's just that we don't want it to change the boys' lives."

  There are other many videos. I will show one:

 In conclusion, I like 'Charlie bit me!' because it is so funny. Charlie bit Harry's finger, and Harry screams. Then, Charlie laughs. It's so viral and really funny. This is the end of my essay about viral video, and thank you for reading this essay.
